An excellent medicine for a stitch

Take a turfe of the pareing of the floor where much goeing is and boile it on a gridiron. Bast it on both sides with vinegar and when it is broiled well put it between two foulds of a linen cloth and lay it on the place where the paine is as hot as you can well endure it and drink of the powder of bay berries in posset drink or broth. DO this till your paine be gone.
